Middle part: a centre part that falls naturally
A middle part divides the top from around the centre to both sides. The most natural place is not exactly the same line for everyone. Your growth direction and the length beside the face matter at least as much as the parting itself.
Find where your hair wants to divide
Wear the hair loose and see where it opens naturally. A middle part may sit slightly left or right of the mathematical centre and look calmer. If you force it with heavy product, you will repeat that struggle every morning.
Use a reference with a fall similar to your own. Straight, wavy and curly hair reveal a parting in different ways.
Retain length beside the face
The front sections need enough length to move aside instead of springing straight back. Indicate where you want them to finish while looking ahead, and remember dry hair can sit differently from wet hair.
Ask for the transition towards the temples to be considered too. Removing too much at that corner can make the opening at the front smaller than you intended.
Connect the back to the top length
A middle part does not mean long hair everywhere. Discuss where bulk can be removed so the back does not become unnecessarily heavy while the front remains useful.
Arrange the part yourself at the end without having it combed tightly for you. This shows whether its line and length suit your ordinary routine at home.
